Blackmagic Video Assist 3.1 firmware update

Blackmagic Design has released a firmware update for the Blackmagic Video Assist 3.1. This update adds Blackmagic RAW recording to the Video Assist 5″/7″ 12G HDR monitors-recorders.

Also, with the release of Blackmagic RAW 1.7, Video Assist 12G HDR models now can record BRAW when tethered to the Panasonic EVA1 and Canon C300 Mark II cameras. Last but not least, Blackmagic RAW 1.7 improves Blackmagic RAW plugin performance with Adobe Premiere Pro and Avid!

Here are all the improvements included in the Blackmagic Video Assist 3.1 firmware update:

  • Add Blackmagic RAW recording to the Video Assist 5″ 12G HDR and Video Assist 7″ 12G HDR.
  • Add Digital Slate to the Video Assist 5″ 12G HDR and Video Assist 7″ 12G HDR. This feature embeds camera metadata into files as they are recorded.
  • Improves HDMI connectivity with some cameras to Video Assist 5″ 12G HDR and Video Assist 7″ 12G HDR.
  • General performance and stability updates to the Video Assist 5″ 12G HDR and Video Assist 7″ 12G HDR.
